Ziplining!

Hello, hello! I miss y'all. This week was absolutely incredible. I LOVE being a missionary. I'll tell you about some of the highlights.
1. Miracle!
So, the first 7 weeks or so of my mission I really wanted to find someone new to start teaching. We talk with everyone and try to share the good news we have, but no one ever wanted to learn more! It was hard. Then, wonder of wonder, miracle of miracles, this week we started teaching 2 people! I have been praying so hard for this. And it happened! Heavenly Father does answer prayers. I'll keep you updated on how meeting with them more goes. :)
2. Bold invitations
Last week my companions and I got priesthood blessings from our bishopric. In our blessings, all three of our blessings said to be bold. So, we've been working on that... We had some awesome lessons this week and were able to be bold in inviting people to do things to bring them closer to Christ. Nothing makes me happier than people having enough faith to make changes in their life!
3. Church!
As a result of these awesome people working to come closer to Christ, we had so many of our friends come to church!! I was so, super happy. It was a powerful meeting. Sister Jelderks (one of my companions) spoke, and it was about Jesus Christ and how we help others come closer to Him. I played Come Thou Fount on the piano which was so fun. Some of my friends clapped for me after. :)
4. Ziplining!!!
I went ziplining!!! We had a ward party at my Bishop's ranch, and it was the funnest thing. I was a lil nervous, but it was incredible. Also, we had so much good Thanksgiving food and had fun with people at the party. We took a picture by the hugest pig. Her name is Mushu. :)

Other things this week are we got a new handbook of missionary rules. We had freezing rain early last week which was wild. We also had lunch with one of our good friends. She's the nicest human and has such strong faith in Jesus Christ, but we got to talking about our differences in belief. It was rough. She invited us to be careful and not base our beliefs on how we feel. I shared with her that my beliefs are based on intellectual knowledge in my mind, how I feel in my heart, and also from experience. I've thought about it a lot since, and I really know Christ's gospel is true. It means everything to me. I've received direction, peace, strength, comfort, and help in a million different ways throughout my life--experiences I cannot deny. This message is real and true, and I'm here to share it on purpose.
I love y'all and miss you. Email me at liberty.johnson@missionary.org.
Love,
Sister Liberty Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Member Work Works

Guys, let me tell you about my week. God is a God of miracles. He leads us to people we can help or leads them to us, and it is humbling to watch. We started teaching 4 people this week, all through their member friends. Aw, it makes my heart happy.  Last Sunday in ward council, our ward was all excited about a lady named Helen. She had just moved in and used to meet with missionaries in the past. We knew nothing about her, so we talked to some other sisters and Buck was a hero and got us on a video call with past missionaries and friends that met with her before. One of her member friends set up an appointment for us, and we went over to meet her. She is really sweet and says she wants to get baptized but isn't ready to commit to anything. But God's hand was definitely in all of this because Helen just moved in with her niece Michele. Michele is going through a lot-- way a lot. She is a strong women. We started talking and connected hard. The Spirit was there. She said sh...

Ag Girl!

Hello! How are y'all? This week I went back to my agricultural roots. And let me tell you, I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life.  First, I'm coaching the Harrison FFA Meats team, and we had our first practice this week. I've spent lots of time sorting through piles of old tests from past FFA advisers, finding meat ID quizlets, and asking Mr. Noorda so many questions. And so far, it's going incredibly well. :) I have a team of 3 guys and they seem quite dedicated. They're going to memorize all the beef ID by Tuesday. Second, I harvested chickens. This incredible couple has chickens, and last time we were at their house, they were showing us how they harvest them, and Sister Kershaw was like, "Can we try?" So, we went over this week ready. I cut a chicken's throat and helped pluck them. I felt very triumphant.  In other news, business is booming. We have been so busy! Pretty much the same things as always, so not too ...
