Trio Party!!

Good morning! I am officially in a trio.
😊😀☺

(My new thing is to put 3 face emojis in texts and area book and such since there are now 3 of us. I hope you enjoy.)

This week has been very exciting--different than usual but quality. We had a lot of driving. We went up to Branson 3 days this week (45 minute drive) and to Bentonville on another day (2 hour drive). I'll tell you about some of our adventures.

1st trip to Branson: Stake P-day
Last Monday we had p-day with a lot of other missionaries. We played some basketball and games. The highlight was we played Settlers of Catan!! I was so excited. I won. :)

All of us new missionaries got together in Bentonville for a training on Tuesday. I got to see my sisters from my MTC district! I was so happy. It was the weirdest thing to be with both Sister Brown and Sister Fowler (my 2 companions) at once. Very happy though. I'll send pictures. I learned so much about being a missionary and just a disciple of Christ. I want to always remember why I'm on my mission and why I do everything I do. I am so passionate about following Jesus Christ and sharing His message with others. I want to remember that and bring my passion into my work. Also, some of us went to sushi after the meeting. Blessings. :D

2nd trip to Branson: District Council and Lead Hill
Every Wednesday we go to district council which is a meeting with us and 3 sets of Elders. My favorite part is hearing their stories of cool people they're working with. Oh, also, we watched this video that changed my life. It's called One by One and is the most beautiful, real portrayal of the nativity I've ever seen. So, as you're getting into the Christmas spirit, definitely watch that.

We always take a detour on the way home to save miles (we use so many miles! :/), and it's one of my favorite parts of the week cause we visit Gene. He asked some questions about what makes our church different than other Christian churches. So, next Wednesday we're going to share with him the good news that we have a prophet on the earth today and the same church Christ set up when He was on the earth is here today! So pumped for that.

3rd trip to Branson: Transfers
So, the most exciting part of this whole week is we got Sister Jelderks!!! Now there are 3 of us. It is great fun. We got another mattress and desk and all the other things. Sister Jelderks is awesome--so smart and has the Spirit really powerfully with her. Also, the three of us laugh a lot. I have this problem where I've gotten a lot more comfortable with Sister Brown, so I tend to be snarky and obnoxious... It's a real problem.

In other news, we have freezing rain today! It's supposed to snow which should be exciting. Also, we had a nice lesson with Alyssa last Monday. We talked about Joseph Smith and how he restored Christ's church. She still has a lot of questions and looking back on history is confusing. We're going over again to talk about it more in this coming week. Even though she still has questions, it was a powerful experience to be able to testify to her that I don't know a lot and there are still things about the restoration of the gospel that I don't understand, but I believe with all my heart that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ did appear to Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith was given power from God to restore Christ's church and translate the Book of Mormon. I know because I have asked God and lived the gospel, and I can feel it. Again when I was sharing this, I felt the Spirit so powerfully. I just felt peace.

I love you all so much. I miss you! Email me at liberty.johnson@missionary.org

Love,

Sister Liberty Johnson

Also, we were borrowing couches for all of last transfer, and this week they needed them back. So now our couches are significantly reduced... I sent pictures of that.

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Member Work Works

Guys, let me tell you about my week. God is a God of miracles. He leads us to people we can help or leads them to us, and it is humbling to watch. We started teaching 4 people this week, all through their member friends. Aw, it makes my heart happy.  Last Sunday in ward council, our ward was all excited about a lady named Helen. She had just moved in and used to meet with missionaries in the past. We knew nothing about her, so we talked to some other sisters and Buck was a hero and got us on a video call with past missionaries and friends that met with her before. One of her member friends set up an appointment for us, and we went over to meet her. She is really sweet and says she wants to get baptized but isn't ready to commit to anything. But God's hand was definitely in all of this because Helen just moved in with her niece Michele. Michele is going through a lot-- way a lot. She is a strong women. We started talking and connected hard. The Spirit was there. She said sh...

God's Not Done with You

I hope you are all doing well through this crazy time. You're in my thoughts and prayers.  This week I discovered the new theme song for my life. It's called God's Not Done with You by Tauren Wells. This is a very "dynamic time" (as my mission president says). Everyone is being affected in drastic ways! But I know that God is not done with you. His work is not slowing down, and your role in it isn't either. One of my sisters shared a quote with me this week that helped me to understand this.  "The standard of truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done."   ...
