Spooky Season!

Happy Halloween!!! Happy NEVADA day! I sang the NV state song for Sister Brown in honor of my home. I'm sure she appreciated that. :) This week was crazy fun. We have a goal of having 62 quality conversations with nonmembers a week (not counting people we're teaching). It's great fun to talk to so many new people, but we sometimes struggle getting that many. This week we had 84 quality conversations!!! We celebrated Halloween hard.
Tuesday I held a tarantula!! A member had it, and I have no fear. I didn't even die, so that's good.

Sister Flippo (one of our INCREDIBLE ward missionaries) gave us Halloween headbands. Mine had spiders. :) We had a party with Sister Flippo stapling pictures of Jesus with our number on the back to candy.

Then, Thursday, we went to a big extravaganza to give out the candy. So fun. Trump was there! People here love that guy. I'll send a picture.

The best part of everything was Halloween morning. We helped at a Halloween carnival at the assisted living place we paint nails at. I loved it. I talked to all the cute old people and helped them play games and handed out prizes. My specialty was the bean bag toss and fish pond. I got a pet ghost. :D I'll send a picture.

We went to another party Saturday. Momma Whitney brought us to a women's ministry chili supper. So fun! It was a ton of Christian women from different churches. We ate, sang, and listened to a speaker. I LOVE when people are passionate about religion. It's awesome to see that we're not the only ones. So many people love and follow and depend on Jesus Christ. It makes my heart happy.
We had another party on Wednesday. We usually meet with Gene outside on his picnic table cause it's a rule that we need another women with us to go inside his house. He is always very salty about it. This Wednesday it was raining a lot. He messaged us and told us he had a tarp. :) The silly. Sister Williams is the best and came with us last minute and brought her daughter. So we met inside his house. Wild. We showed him the first Book of Mormon video, and he loved it. He reads in the Book of Mormon a lot but has a hard time understanding it. I'm so glad that these help him so much. (Side note, I live for the Book of Mormon videos. They are so good. Highly recommend.) I'm so excited for Gene. The Book of Mormon is how I came to know Christ. It has changed my life so much. It's incredible to watch others go on that same journey.
Speaking of which... tonight we are having dinner and a Book of Mormon study with Alyssa! So excited. We were texting to set up a time, and she asked us if we could talk about Joseph Smith and the first vision. Alyssa, that's what we do! So, pray for us tonight. I know the Book of Mormon and Christ's restored gospel will bless her so much if she'll let it.
Finally, we have big news. We are getting a TRIO!!! There is going to be 3 of us sisters running around Harrison. I am so excited.
I love y'all so much! Email me at liberty.johnson@missionary.org. Have an incredible week.
Love,

Sister Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone! I hope y'all had an incredible Christmas. I did. It was definitely weird not be home and for there to be no snow on Christmas, but this week was awesome. First, the funniest, strangest thing that I have ever experienced happened this week. On Christmas Eve, we were going around delivering Christmas cookies to some of our friends. About a month ago we met this dear old lady named Marcie, and we decided to take some cookies to her. Sister Johnson has incredibly good intentions, but she is also new to this whole driving in Harrison, AR thing and is terrible at directions. So, we go up to knock on the door, and this old man walks out. We ask if Marcie is there, and he looks really confused and says, "My wife?" We're like, yeah. So we go in, talk to this old guy we don't know. I'm confused at this point because I was pretty sure Marcie didn't have a husband. Then, this old lady (the guy's wife) comes in, and she is definitely  not  Marci...

Merry Christmas! (Almost)

MERRY CHRISTMAS (almost)! ❄❄❄ What a beautiful week. The highlight by far was our lesson with Cindy. Aww, I LOVE her! It's kinda crazy we've only known each other for a month-- I'm sure we'll be friends for life. Sister Beasley was visiting for the day, and we taught Cindy the plan of salvation. We asked her what she thinks her purpose in life is, and she said it is to know God and help others know God. Wow. It's amazing how simple the God's plan is-- all we need to do is bring Christ into our life through faith, repentance, baptism, the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end, and we can do exactly that. I know God loves Cindy so much and wants her to live with Him forever. She wants that too. I asked if she wants to be baptized, and she said YES!!! WOOHOO!!! I am so excited for her.  I love celebrating Christ's birth this Christmas season. He is who makes second chances and knowing God and this whole plan possible.  Merry Christmas!! Have so much fun c...
