It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard!

But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.

Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testimony, and she said, "It's good to be home."

Christ is home and His church on the Earth is home. He wants everyone to come to Him. My favorite scripture in the Book of Mormon is 3 Nephi 9:13. It's Christ talking to a group of people who have been going through a lot of hard things and not making the best choices. But Christ says to them, "return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you."

I'm so grateful for the joy I've felt as I've come closer to Him.

Love you all!

Sister Liberty Johnson

Baptism!

The world is a crazy place. A LOT has been going on! It blows my mind.  Yesterday, we were studying with my friend Aidyn, and we talked about a vision the prophet Lehi had. In the vision there is a tree representing God's love, and staying by the tree and eating the fruit is where happiness is. But so many people lose their way, turn their back on the tree, and even mock those eating the fruit. It really hit me how crucial the love of God is in my life. Nothing is worth getting distracted from that! Following God has brought me SO much joy. We've been asking everyone we know what one word they would use to describe Christ. I have LOVED the answers we've gotten. I'll tell you some of my favorites: love, joy, strength, praise, glory, adventure, happy, close, worth it, steadfast, exciting, living water, progressing, hope, peace. It's so cool how individual Christ's relationship is with each of us. We just came home from Rebecca's baptism. It ...

God Is Good!

Y'all, I have never been happier in my whole life. Life is just good. I absolutely love it here. The people are  incredible , and I have the best job. I love serving people and talking about Jesus. I had a legendary week. A big highlight was hanging out with my  friends Levi and Timmy. They've had a crazy past, but they want a stronger relationship with God, and it's inspiring to see. Last Monday we went over to talk to Levi about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he invited his friend to come too! It was such a great lesson. At the end, Sister Hess asked them how they felt. Timmy said, "euphoric." Same, Timmy, same. There was an incredible spirit there. It strengthened my testimony of God's infinite love, and that, no matter where we're at, He is so happy when we're facing the right direction and wanting to come close to him. Friday, we went back to visit them again, and our friend Mike came with us. We started talking about God...
