Miracles Are Real

My people, hello! This week has been crazy busy and very exciting. Looking back on it, it is easy to see that God's hand has been in my life this week. And I am so grateful.

First I'll tell you about all the craziness. :) Monday, we went to Branson for a sister's p-day. SO fun! We roasted hotdogs, went hiking, and rode the ferris wheel. With all my favorite people!

Then Tuesday, we went up to Bentonville for a training. There was some solid content and wonderful people, but the best part was that the Spirit was really speaking to me, giving me all kinds of ideas and impressions about the Southern Hills ward.

Wednesday I was back in Branson with Sister Ivie. She is cool! She is such an example of faith to me because she keeps going even when she doesn't have all the answers and everything figured out. We did such hardcore service that day. And it was so hot!!!

I got back to my area the rest of the week. We did service like crazy! We got 20 hours this week. We mowed so many lawns and trimmed trees and met incredible people. There was definitely not enough time to do all we needed to do, and the Lord magnified our efforts a lot. The lawn mowers we were borrowing kept not working, which was stressful. I was using our 3rd one for the day, and I just prayed the whole time that it would make it. And it did!! Also, other answered prayer, we trimmed some bushes and trees at this nice lady’s house and left a big pile of limbs behind. We were going to get a truck to pick it up and take it away, but it didn't work out. So we decided to shove it in the back of our car (which was definitely a bad idea). We started, and this random guy from across the street came over and asked if we wanted to burn the bush in his firepit. So we did. HUGE tender mercy. God answers prayers, lots of times through other people.

The craziest part of this week was Saturday night I found out that I am going to stay over Southern Hills ward and also cover the young single adults in the whole stake!! And I'm getting a reassigned companion. I was kind of sad and very stressed to be leaving Chesterfield and I have no idea how to do YSA. But this week really prepared me for this change. And then, miracle city, I had an exchange with Sister Carter yesterday. She used to serve in the YSA and is top 5 in the wisest people I know. She helped me a ton.

I love you all, and thanks so much for caring about my life enough to read about my wild week. Miracles are real, and God answers prayers. Email me at liberty.johnson@missionary.org

Much love,
Sister Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Member Work Works

Guys, let me tell you about my week. God is a God of miracles. He leads us to people we can help or leads them to us, and it is humbling to watch. We started teaching 4 people this week, all through their member friends. Aw, it makes my heart happy.  Last Sunday in ward council, our ward was all excited about a lady named Helen. She had just moved in and used to meet with missionaries in the past. We knew nothing about her, so we talked to some other sisters and Buck was a hero and got us on a video call with past missionaries and friends that met with her before. One of her member friends set up an appointment for us, and we went over to meet her. She is really sweet and says she wants to get baptized but isn't ready to commit to anything. But God's hand was definitely in all of this because Helen just moved in with her niece Michele. Michele is going through a lot-- way a lot. She is a strong women. We started talking and connected hard. The Spirit was there. She said sh...

Ag Girl!

Hello! How are y'all? This week I went back to my agricultural roots. And let me tell you, I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life.  First, I'm coaching the Harrison FFA Meats team, and we had our first practice this week. I've spent lots of time sorting through piles of old tests from past FFA advisers, finding meat ID quizlets, and asking Mr. Noorda so many questions. And so far, it's going incredibly well. :) I have a team of 3 guys and they seem quite dedicated. They're going to memorize all the beef ID by Tuesday. Second, I harvested chickens. This incredible couple has chickens, and last time we were at their house, they were showing us how they harvest them, and Sister Kershaw was like, "Can we try?" So, we went over this week ready. I cut a chicken's throat and helped pluck them. I felt very triumphant.  In other news, business is booming. We have been so busy! Pretty much the same things as always, so not too ...
