Wednesday

Good morning!! I'm writing this from a rolly massage machine in a chiropractor waiting room. I have a good life. 😊 I never know what to write about on Mondays cause I'm just living the same life, but everyday is different! And so wonderful. I've realized that people really don't know what we do. People always ask us if we're okay and think we're dying of boredom or something. Weird.

So, I decided to tell you about Wednesday. It was a pretty normal missionary day, but quite different from normal life. :)

Wednesday, I woke up at 6:30. We call the sisters closest to us every morning and pray and read from the missionary handbook together to help us wake up. Then we did yoga over Facebook messenger with our friend Sister Campbell. We take turns leading. THEN, we went to the park and ran and worked out with our friend Kelcey. She just graduated and is so buff. Then we had breakfast (probably avocado toast and eggs), studied the scriptures, and got ready for the day. We made a quick stop at the dollar store to buy balloons for the 2 new missionaries in our district (the group of missionaries in our area) and went to district council.

We taught district council this week which was quite exciting. We talked about working with local church leaders, but the slideshow was Avengers themed. 😁 I was quite proud of it. We ate burritos in the church parking lot, and then we went and did service together. We helped this dear lady do yard work. It was so fun, and I definitely got roasted. (Y'all should see my watch tan line! SO good.)
We rushed home to see our friend Sister Tiff. She made us pizza! Love her. Then we called a couple people to set up a time to share a message with them. (We're trying to reach out to members who aren't very connected with the congregation and haven't been to church very recently. We've met some awesome people!)

We have a friend who is new in the mission, and she wants to practice teaching. So her and her companion taught us about the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Guys, it was INCREDIBLE. I was pretending to not know about what they were teaching and trying to have a hard heart to help them in their teaching, but it did not work. The Spirit was there SO hard. And I knew what they were teaching is true.

Then, we then prepared for our meeting with Aidyn at the park. We drew chalk with a group of young women. They're really cool. It was awesome. Though, we missed 45 minutes in the middle for a zoom call with our stake president. We did it in the car and roasted. We almost died.

While we were there, a nice lady called and asked if we'd bring her cat litter that night. We said of course. And then we realized that our appointment started in 5 minutes and wouldn't be over until after Walmart closes. So, we did the only logical thing. We rushed to Walmart to get cat litter. But we went fast. I was dying of laughter as we RAN through the Walmart parking lot with a big box of cat litter for a random lady.

We were late for the lesson, but it was SO good. It was with my girl Aidyn who is actually the coolest person I know. We had such a good night.

Then we rushed to drop off the cat litter to get back home just after 9:30. :) And we went to bed.
In other news, I got to go back to Harrison (my home!!!) on Saturday. Also, there's fireflies here!!!

I love y'all lots! Have the best day. And email me @ liberty.johnson@missionary.org.

LOVE,

Sister Liberty Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Member Work Works

Guys, let me tell you about my week. God is a God of miracles. He leads us to people we can help or leads them to us, and it is humbling to watch. We started teaching 4 people this week, all through their member friends. Aw, it makes my heart happy.  Last Sunday in ward council, our ward was all excited about a lady named Helen. She had just moved in and used to meet with missionaries in the past. We knew nothing about her, so we talked to some other sisters and Buck was a hero and got us on a video call with past missionaries and friends that met with her before. One of her member friends set up an appointment for us, and we went over to meet her. She is really sweet and says she wants to get baptized but isn't ready to commit to anything. But God's hand was definitely in all of this because Helen just moved in with her niece Michele. Michele is going through a lot-- way a lot. She is a strong women. We started talking and connected hard. The Spirit was there. She said sh...

God's Not Done with You

I hope you are all doing well through this crazy time. You're in my thoughts and prayers.  This week I discovered the new theme song for my life. It's called God's Not Done with You by Tauren Wells. This is a very "dynamic time" (as my mission president says). Everyone is being affected in drastic ways! But I know that God is not done with you. His work is not slowing down, and your role in it isn't either. One of my sisters shared a quote with me this week that helped me to understand this.  "The standard of truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done."   ...
