Sunshine

Y'all, there is sunshine in my soul today. ️

This week has been crazy... mostly internally. At the beginning of the week, I was just TIRED. But, now, I'm so happy. I've realized (well, re- realized) that I have the best life EVER. For 3 main reasons.

1. It is GORGEOUS here. It is so green with daisies everywhere and heaps of sunshine and blue sky. Also, humidity. My hair loves it! Gets so excited. Though, I did straighten it this week. I'll send pictures. :)

2. PEOPLE! My goodness, I work with such incredible people. We went on a sister tour this week. :) There are 4 sets of sisters in our area (by area, I mean it takes 1.5 hours to drive to the farthest one), and we visited all of them in one day. It was WAY fun. I'll send pictures. We hiked, drew, made t- shirts, and Sister Speiser straightened my hair.

Also, we are teaching AMAZING people. Let me just tell you about yesterday, and you'll understand. We went to church with two people we're teaching. The first is Rebecca. She is getting baptized in a week and just glows. She knows it's true, and it's powerful. The other was Aidyn. I want to be best friends with her forever! She is so real and really loves God. Last week we accidentally talked for 3 hours in her car. And she has red hair, so she's pretty much my favorite person. We also met Juan yesterday. We just sat in his front yard in lawn chairs and talked about conversion and his life. ALSO, we met with Sam. Guys, she is a legend. She lives in California and is such an honest seeker of truth. She is so excited about the gospel of Jesus Christ, and we taught her about the restoration of Christ's gospel yesterday. She wants a Book of Mormon. We're gonna send our friends in California over with one. 😁

Speaking of amazing people, Sister Horspool is a legend. So kind and Christlike. We're staying together for a 3rd transfer!!! That's the longest I've ever been with a companion. So HYPED!

3. I love Jesus Christ. Way a lot. I am on a quest. I'm asking everyone I know this question:
If you could describe your relationship with Jesus Christ in one word, what would it be?
I'm collecting videos of people saying they're one word, and I'm going to compile them and share them with the world. :) So look for that on Followers of Jesus Christ in the Greater Ozarks. If you want to contribute (which would be AMAZING) please send me a video (landscape/hotdog not portrait/ hamburger) of you saying your word at liberty.johnson@missionary.org.

LOVE YOU ALL!!! Have the best week ever. And live in the present. It's lots of fun.

Sister Liberty Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Member Work Works

Guys, let me tell you about my week. God is a God of miracles. He leads us to people we can help or leads them to us, and it is humbling to watch. We started teaching 4 people this week, all through their member friends. Aw, it makes my heart happy.  Last Sunday in ward council, our ward was all excited about a lady named Helen. She had just moved in and used to meet with missionaries in the past. We knew nothing about her, so we talked to some other sisters and Buck was a hero and got us on a video call with past missionaries and friends that met with her before. One of her member friends set up an appointment for us, and we went over to meet her. She is really sweet and says she wants to get baptized but isn't ready to commit to anything. But God's hand was definitely in all of this because Helen just moved in with her niece Michele. Michele is going through a lot-- way a lot. She is a strong women. We started talking and connected hard. The Spirit was there. She said sh...

God's Not Done with You

I hope you are all doing well through this crazy time. You're in my thoughts and prayers.  This week I discovered the new theme song for my life. It's called God's Not Done with You by Tauren Wells. This is a very "dynamic time" (as my mission president says). Everyone is being affected in drastic ways! But I know that God is not done with you. His work is not slowing down, and your role in it isn't either. One of my sisters shared a quote with me this week that helped me to understand this.  "The standard of truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done."   ...
