HYPED!

Who knew being self-isolated could be so incredible??

Y'all, this has been a solid week. I'm always exhausted city at the end of the day (I don't know why staying inside all the time is so tiring), but my days are full of good things. I'll tell you 4 highlights of my week.

1. Masks
The hospitals in town are in desperate need of surgical masks, and we've been very involved in the process. Last week we made a ton of kits to make masks, and this week we got to pass kits out. Wow, actual highlight of my life! A ton of cars came through and we handed kits through their windows. I think we gave out 700 kits, and each kit makes 20 masks. Springfield is incredible. The best was that we were OUTSIDE with PEOPLE. Wow.

We've also been sewing a ton of medical masks. This weekend Sister Horspool had the idea to post on Facebook offering to make cotton masks for people. 6 people have already reached out to us needing masks.

2. Roadtrip!!!
Yesterday at midnight, the entire state of Missouri issued a stay-at-home order. So, before it was illegal, we visited our sisters in Branson and Harrison this week. It was a party! They inspire me, and I had a lot of fun.

3. HYPED
Once a week we have a meeting with the missionaries around us. There's 8 of us in our group. This week we had the best meeting of my life! We were all a little low on energy and less excited about staying inside always. But then, we got HYPED. I'll attach the hype cycle down before. It works. :) I'm so grateful to be serving with such incredible people that make me excited to follow God.

4. General Conference!
This weekend, God's prophet and apostles spoke to us! Wow, my life is actually changed. I was feeling pretty overwhelmed before conference, but the Lord really spoke just to me. He gave me a lot of courage and direction. I am determined to make Christ a bigger part of my life and point everyone I know to Him to prepare the world for His return.

I love you all and am praying for you. I'd love to hear from you
at liberty.johnson@missionary.org. I'm hyped to talk to y'all again next week. :)

LOVE,

Sister Liberty Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Member Work Works

Guys, let me tell you about my week. God is a God of miracles. He leads us to people we can help or leads them to us, and it is humbling to watch. We started teaching 4 people this week, all through their member friends. Aw, it makes my heart happy.  Last Sunday in ward council, our ward was all excited about a lady named Helen. She had just moved in and used to meet with missionaries in the past. We knew nothing about her, so we talked to some other sisters and Buck was a hero and got us on a video call with past missionaries and friends that met with her before. One of her member friends set up an appointment for us, and we went over to meet her. She is really sweet and says she wants to get baptized but isn't ready to commit to anything. But God's hand was definitely in all of this because Helen just moved in with her niece Michele. Michele is going through a lot-- way a lot. She is a strong women. We started talking and connected hard. The Spirit was there. She said sh...

Ag Girl!

Hello! How are y'all? This week I went back to my agricultural roots. And let me tell you, I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life.  First, I'm coaching the Harrison FFA Meats team, and we had our first practice this week. I've spent lots of time sorting through piles of old tests from past FFA advisers, finding meat ID quizlets, and asking Mr. Noorda so many questions. And so far, it's going incredibly well. :) I have a team of 3 guys and they seem quite dedicated. They're going to memorize all the beef ID by Tuesday. Second, I harvested chickens. This incredible couple has chickens, and last time we were at their house, they were showing us how they harvest them, and Sister Kershaw was like, "Can we try?" So, we went over this week ready. I cut a chicken's throat and helped pluck them. I felt very triumphant.  In other news, business is booming. We have been so busy! Pretty much the same things as always, so not too ...
