Happy Day!

Last night, Sister Horspool sat out on our front porch, blew bubbles, and talked about what's in our souls. It's warming up here in Missouri, and it was beautiful. And I realized that I have the best life ever.

It has been SUCH a good week. We've just been doing the work and loving people, and it's so fulfilling.

One thing we're really excited about is we've started 2 Come, Follow Me groups with the women in each of the wards we cover. It was so fun to get to know them and talk about Christ's gospel and what that looks like in action.

We had a miracle on Saturday. We were delivering masks we had made for people (just dropping them off on people's doors cause social distancing). We were in this apartment building, and a man comes out of a door across the hall. We say hi as he walks past. Then, when we go out to our car, he asks us if we're from a church. He told us that he just moved here, he hasn't been to a church in 4 years, and is looking for one. We're going to start teaching him over video call!!! God really puts people in our path when we leave the house cause it doesn't happen very often. 😅

We had such a blessing yesterday! I ADORE little kids. Before my mission, they were my whole life--I was either working with kids or going to school to learn how to better work with kids. Yesterday we went chalking with some of our friends at the park, and this dad comes by, walking his dogs with his 3 year old daughter in the stroller. Of course, she wants to play with chalk too. So she did. For an hour! I was sooo happy. She called me a "little mother." 😂 My heart was very full.

As you can tell, this week has been incredible. I was talking to my mission president, President Strong, about joy this week. He told me that if your focus in life is joy, joy will never come. But as you focus on Jesus Christ and living His gospel, joy will come without you even realizing. It helped me to realize that my whole mission in life is to point people to Jesus Christ. That has not changed, and it's not going to. And that's why I'm so incredibly happy.

I love y'all so much!! I need your help with something-- Sister Horspool and I have started teaching yoga every morning. And I don't really know what I'm doing. So, if any of you have yoga poses you like, please share. Email me at liberty.johnson@missionary.org.

LOVE,

Sister Liberty Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Member Work Works

Guys, let me tell you about my week. God is a God of miracles. He leads us to people we can help or leads them to us, and it is humbling to watch. We started teaching 4 people this week, all through their member friends. Aw, it makes my heart happy.  Last Sunday in ward council, our ward was all excited about a lady named Helen. She had just moved in and used to meet with missionaries in the past. We knew nothing about her, so we talked to some other sisters and Buck was a hero and got us on a video call with past missionaries and friends that met with her before. One of her member friends set up an appointment for us, and we went over to meet her. She is really sweet and says she wants to get baptized but isn't ready to commit to anything. But God's hand was definitely in all of this because Helen just moved in with her niece Michele. Michele is going through a lot-- way a lot. She is a strong women. We started talking and connected hard. The Spirit was there. She said sh...

Ag Girl!

Hello! How are y'all? This week I went back to my agricultural roots. And let me tell you, I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life.  First, I'm coaching the Harrison FFA Meats team, and we had our first practice this week. I've spent lots of time sorting through piles of old tests from past FFA advisers, finding meat ID quizlets, and asking Mr. Noorda so many questions. And so far, it's going incredibly well. :) I have a team of 3 guys and they seem quite dedicated. They're going to memorize all the beef ID by Tuesday. Second, I harvested chickens. This incredible couple has chickens, and last time we were at their house, they were showing us how they harvest them, and Sister Kershaw was like, "Can we try?" So, we went over this week ready. I cut a chicken's throat and helped pluck them. I felt very triumphant.  In other news, business is booming. We have been so busy! Pretty much the same things as always, so not too ...
