I
hope you are all doing well through this crazy time. You're in my thoughts and
prayers.
This week I discovered
the new theme song for my life. It's called God's Not Done with You by Tauren
Wells. This is a very "dynamic time" (as my mission president says).
Everyone is being affected in drastic ways! But I know that God is not done
with you. His work is not slowing down, and your role in it isn't either. One
of my sisters shared a quote with me this week that helped me to understand
this.
"The standard of
truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing;
persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may
defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent till
it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country,
and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and
the great Jehovah shall say the work is done."
—Joseph Smith, 1842
This is such an
exciting time to be a member of Christ's church! I know that He is leading us,
and He's not about to stop.
Tuesday, Springfield
issued a stay-at-home order beginning Wednesday night at midnight, making it
illegal to leave your house except to exercise or do essential things like buy
groceries. Our dear friend Allison was planning on getting baptized on April
7th. SO, we planned a baptism for Wednesday. Aw, it was a special time. There
were only 8 of us there, but it helped me focus on the importance of the
covenant she was making. She promised to always follow Jesus Christ, and God
promised that His Spirit will always be with her. That's powerful, and I know
it will help her more than anything else at this time.
We've also had some
wonderful lessons over video call this week. Sister Horspool's teaching me how
to cook, we planted flowers, and we go on a lot of walks.
I love you all! Please
let me know how you're doing at liberty.johnson@missionary.org. ALSO, general
conference is this weekend!! It's on churchofJesusChrist.org Saturday morning
at 9 Nevada time. It'll change your life.
Much love,
Sister Liberty Johnson
