Miracles

Good morning! I've been reading a lot in the scriptures this week, as you might imagine, and in 2 Nephi in the Book of Mormon, it talks about how God is a God of miracles and that there are still miracles today. It is true! So much has happened this week, so I'm just going to tell you about some of the miracles I have seen this week.
1. My life was changed. Sunday was probably the hardest day I've had here so far. It was just long and I was tired and not feeling it. That night we watched a talk by Elder Bednar called The Character of Christ. It changed my life!! He said that Christ's character is to turn out and serve others when the natural man would turn in. I want to be like that! Who cares if I'm tired and have a long day? This mission is not about me. I've been trying to implement this in my life and think about others, and the results have been miraculous. This has been the best week of my life.
2. My life was changed again! Okay, this is crazy. Gospel library (the app with scriptures on it) is AMAZING! Say you want to go to the awesome scripture about miracles that I read this week, 2 Nephi 27:23. Go to the search bar in gospel library, type "2N2723," and it will go right to it. Scripture chase with that, seminary kids! It's been amazing in my teaching.
3. I Know I am supposed to be here. Being here is a big adjustment, and I'm giving up a lot of things I love to be here (like seeing all of you). But God knows it is hard, and He has told me over and over that I am supposed to be here. I'll tell you about the two most powerful times. Elder Stevenson came and spoke to us on Tuesday. (I was in the choir so I got to sing for an apostle!) He promised us that our calls are inspired and that there are specific people where we are called that we can help in ways no one else can. I felt so hard that that is true in my life. In the temple this morning I felt again that this is just where I should be.  And after the temple I ran into my dear cousin Braeden and his amazing wife Anna!! So excited!!
4. God can work through me. Sister Fowler and I have taught quite a bit this week with varying levels of success. By far our most powerful lesson was with Olivia. She wants to know God but has a hard time trusting Him. We taught her out of the Book of Mormon about how Christ plays a role in our lives, focusing on faith. I don't even remember all we said, but the Lord was guiding us. The Spirit was really there, and for at least those 25 minutes we were with her, she was able to feel God's love for her.

There have been so many other miracles and blessings in my week, big and small. I love my companion, my roommates, and my district. We have s
uch good times. :) They make me laugh so much, and they have also all brought me closer to God. Exercise time is the best; I've been able to run a few times and play some basketball. The weather is gorgeous. I'm just really happy.

I love and miss y'all! (We've been trying to get in the habit of southerness...I hope you enjoy.) Email me! My email is liberty.johnson@missionary.org. I want to hear about your lives.

Love,

Sister Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone! I hope y'all had an incredible Christmas. I did. It was definitely weird not be home and for there to be no snow on Christmas, but this week was awesome. First, the funniest, strangest thing that I have ever experienced happened this week. On Christmas Eve, we were going around delivering Christmas cookies to some of our friends. About a month ago we met this dear old lady named Marcie, and we decided to take some cookies to her. Sister Johnson has incredibly good intentions, but she is also new to this whole driving in Harrison, AR thing and is terrible at directions. So, we go up to knock on the door, and this old man walks out. We ask if Marcie is there, and he looks really confused and says, "My wife?" We're like, yeah. So we go in, talk to this old guy we don't know. I'm confused at this point because I was pretty sure Marcie didn't have a husband. Then, this old lady (the guy's wife) comes in, and she is definitely  not  Marci...

Merry Christmas! (Almost)

MERRY CHRISTMAS (almost)! ❄❄❄ What a beautiful week. The highlight by far was our lesson with Cindy. Aww, I LOVE her! It's kinda crazy we've only known each other for a month-- I'm sure we'll be friends for life. Sister Beasley was visiting for the day, and we taught Cindy the plan of salvation. We asked her what she thinks her purpose in life is, and she said it is to know God and help others know God. Wow. It's amazing how simple the God's plan is-- all we need to do is bring Christ into our life through faith, repentance, baptism, the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end, and we can do exactly that. I know God loves Cindy so much and wants her to live with Him forever. She wants that too. I asked if she wants to be baptized, and she said YES!!! WOOHOO!!! I am so excited for her.  I love celebrating Christ's birth this Christmas season. He is who makes second chances and knowing God and this whole plan possible.  Merry Christmas!! Have so much fun c...
