Party Outside!

My people,

GOOD NEWS!!! We can meet with people IN PERSON outside. Guys, it's a game changer. We got tacos with our good friend Michelle twice this week.

We went on a trip to Branson this week. We saw GIANT spiders. Funny story about Branson... while we were there, we were doing yardwork for this lady. She had this kiddy pool that we dumped out and needed to refill. BUT, the hose didn't reach to it. So... we got terribly creative. How many missionaries does it take to fill up a kiddy pool? See the picture below to find out. 😂 Also, today we helped paint a classroom. I got to climb ladders, and it was super fun.

A couple weeks ago we met Johnny-- he asked us if we were from a church and said he wanted to come to church with us! Well, church is closed right now, but we met him at the park Saturday. It was really wonderful. He hasn't been to church in years and is wanting to come closer to Him. He saw meeting us as a sign from God that He is still reaching out to him. I feel so honored that I am in this position to help bring him closer to Christ. It just hit me how incredible it is that that's my whole job! Y'all, I have the best life.

Oh, other exciting thing. Some of my missionary friends and I started a Facebook page! It's Followers of Jesus Christ in Branson, and we post inspirational messages. It's good stuff if you want to check it out. :)

I love you all!! Let me know how your life is going at liberty.johnson@missionary.org.

LOVE,

Sister Liberty Johnson

It's Good to be Home

Missions are hard. You give your whole self every single day for a long time. You have to do scary things like talk to people you don't really know and have major changes in your life every 6 weeks and tedious things like create workshops plan. Yesterday, Sister Maxfield and I were both hangry and trying to plan a lesson and just started laughing at ourselves cause we were struggling so hard! But there are also times of complete, full joy that I can't even describe that makes everything else so worth it.  Cindy got baptized Saturday morning, and it was one of the most wonderful things I've ever been a part of. She's gone through a lot to get to where she is now and has a lot of hard things yet to come, but she is truly converted to Jesus Christ and cares more about following Him then anything else. There is such a light about her! After the baptism, she said she felt this weight lifted off her that she didn't even know was there. In church, she bore her testim...

Ag Girl!

Hello! How are y'all? This week I went back to my agricultural roots. And let me tell you, I know the joys and discomforts of agricultural life.  First, I'm coaching the Harrison FFA Meats team, and we had our first practice this week. I've spent lots of time sorting through piles of old tests from past FFA advisers, finding meat ID quizlets, and asking Mr. Noorda so many questions. And so far, it's going incredibly well. :) I have a team of 3 guys and they seem quite dedicated. They're going to memorize all the beef ID by Tuesday. Second, I harvested chickens. This incredible couple has chickens, and last time we were at their house, they were showing us how they harvest them, and Sister Kershaw was like, "Can we try?" So, we went over this week ready. I cut a chicken's throat and helped pluck them. I felt very triumphant.  In other news, business is booming. We have been so busy! Pretty much the same things as always, so not too ...

Merry Christmas!

Hi everyone! I hope y'all had an incredible Christmas. I did. It was definitely weird not be home and for there to be no snow on Christmas, but this week was awesome. First, the funniest, strangest thing that I have ever experienced happened this week. On Christmas Eve, we were going around delivering Christmas cookies to some of our friends. About a month ago we met this dear old lady named Marcie, and we decided to take some cookies to her. Sister Johnson has incredibly good intentions, but she is also new to this whole driving in Harrison, AR thing and is terrible at directions. So, we go up to knock on the door, and this old man walks out. We ask if Marcie is there, and he looks really confused and says, "My wife?" We're like, yeah. So we go in, talk to this old guy we don't know. I'm confused at this point because I was pretty sure Marcie didn't have a husband. Then, this old lady (the guy's wife) comes in, and she is definitely  not  Marci...
