God's Not Done with You

I hope you are all doing well through this crazy time. You're in my thoughts and prayers.  This week I discovered the new theme song for my life. It's called God's Not Done with You by Tauren Wells. This is a very "dynamic time" (as my mission president says). Everyone is being affected in drastic ways! But I know that God is not done with you. His work is not slowing down, and your role in it isn't either. One of my sisters shared a quote with me this week that helped me to understand this.  "The standard of truth has been erected. No unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, mobs may combine, armies may assemble, calumny may defame, but the truth of God will go forth boldly, nobly, and independent till it has penetrated every continent, visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear, till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done."   ...

Set Apart

Good morning!!! This has been a wild week. We are now avoiding contact with people, except for sacrament meeting, district council, buying groceries, and exchanges. We're not quarantined, but kind of... So, I decided to call us "set apart" from the world. :D I'm actually SO excited. We got to go on exchanges with 3 different companionships this week, and they all really inspired me. (Side note, I love the sisters I'm serving with. We get to go on exchanges (aka sleepovers) with them now that we're sister training leaders, and it's the best thing ever.) We're going to have to do missionary work in a different way, but we're still going to be doing the work. We are doing "bootcamp" to improve ourselves and make us better missionaries, and we're able to contact a ton of people through video calls, texts, Facebook, etc. At the beginning of all this, I was scared I'd die of boredom, but Sister Horspool and I planned out...

Crazy Corona Cure

Hello, hello! Do you like my alliterationed subject? I thought it was kind of nice.  This week my life turned upside down. But I've never been happier. :) Thursday I moved to Springfield, Missouri. I have a new companion, Sister Horspool. We're already great friends from the MTC, so, blessings. Everything closed that day. Crazy. We're doing missionary work a little differently. We're gonna do as much service as possible and try and really support our friends so they don't feel isolated through all this. We'll be in person for as long as possible, and than we'll move to video calls and whatnot.  Everything changing makes you realize what's most important. We taught a wonderful lady, Cindy, on Saturday. She is going through a lot of hard things. We taught about God's plan for us. Sharing it with her really solidified for me that everything is going to be okay. God loves us and has a plan for us. He sent His son, Jesus Christ, to go through ...

Leaving the Promised Land

Good morning!!!  First, I have some tragic news. I'm leaving Harrison!! My home. The promised land. The people and the place I love so much. BUT, I'm going to Springfield, Missouri. I'm going to be a sister training leader with Sister Horsepool, my MTC friend! It'll be way nice cause I'm still in the same stake, so I'll be able to call Sister Kershaw every week and come on exchanges in Harrison and whatnot. Also, Sister Kershaw is TRAINING!!!!! She is going to be wonderful.  Anyway, let me tell you more about my magical week in the promised land. The definite highlight was Nancy's baptism on Saturday. It was such a sweet experience. I cried. She was confirmed a member of the church and given the gift of the Holy Ghost. In that blessing, it said that everything in her life had prepared her to receive the gospel. I know that God really loves Nancy. He prepared her and led her to the church. I feel so honored to be part of her journey. She is s...

Examples of Faith

Guys. So much happened this week, it's crazy! I got to spend a lot of time with different missionaries this week, and I wanted to tell you about what I learned from them. :)  1. Sister Carter. We had exchanges Wednesday, which means I switched companions for a day. And I got Sister Carter!! My goodness, I learned a lot. She has so much power. She said things that just blew my mind. And when she says things, you feel the power of it. I was telling her how impressed I was with something she said after a lesson, and she said, "It wasn't my words." How cool that she recognized where her power comes from. The Spirit is able to work through her. She helped me to think about how often that happens to me. So many times, I'll say things in a lesson or talking with someone that is what they needed and that I wouldn't know to say on my own. The Lord is able to work through us as we have faith in Him.  2. Sister Thacker. We had a meeting with a  ton  of oth...
