I'm in Arkansas!

Good news! I made it!!! It's been quite the week. We had quality classes and said goodbye to everyone at the MTC (that's what most my pictures are), and then left early Wednesday morning. We stayed the night in Bentonville, and now I'm writing you from Harrison, Arkansas. I am so happy. :) My area is HUGE (2000 square miles). It takes 3 hours to drive through it, so it's impossible to reach everyone, but we're doing our best. We have a truck and a house (like not an apartment, a house). Sister Brown is training me. I am  so lucky . She is the best trainer. She has been in Harrison for 12 weeks, so she's a definite expert, and I just follow her around cause I don't know what I'm doing. Also, we have a lot of fun together. There is a lot to learn and do as a missionary, and I'm very new. But Heavenly Father has been helping me out. Over and over I've had the prompting to just follow Sister Brown. So, I'm trying not to stress and t...

It's OK to Have Joy!

Good morning!!! Being a missionary is awesome. You feel the Spirit a lot and are able to receive revelation on how to help people you're working with. You have such a strong purpose and guidance for your life so you can know that you are exactly where you're supposed to be. You are given power and authority from God to share the best news ever. You have a built in best friend in your companion. You get to teach and learn from the most incredible people. (We taught Katie and Maren this week. They are both so sweet and open and helped me to learn about God's love and my purpose here on earth.) AND you get to literally represent Jesus Christ. (His name is in all caps on the badge we wear always.) Being a missionary is AWESOME, and it brings me so much joy.  Being a missionary, I feel that I have come closer to Christ. But, when we come close to Christ, we realize more than ever our weaknesses. (Ether 12:27) I have felt this, especially as I prepare to leave the M...

Miracles

Good morning! I've been reading a lot in the scriptures this week, as you might imagine, and in 2 Nephi in the Book of Mormon, it talks about how God is a God of miracles and that there are still miracles today. It is true! So much has happened this week, so I'm just going to tell you about some of the miracles I have seen this week.  1. My life was changed. Sunday was probably the hardest day I've had here so far. It was just long and I was tired and not feeling it. That night we watched a talk by Elder Bednar called The Character of Christ. It changed my life!! He said that Christ's character is to turn out and serve others when the natural man would turn in. I want to be like that! Who cares if I'm tired and have a long day? This mission is not about me. I've been trying to implement this in my life and think about others, and the results have been miraculous. This has been the best week of my life.  2. My life was changed again! Okay, this is cra...

So Happy!

Good morning everyone! As you can tell from the subject, I am so happy. This is my 4th day at the MTC, and I love it. Once I got here, all my nervousness went away. I know with all my heart this is where I'm suppose to be.  A big highlight are the wonderful people here. My companion, Sister Fowler, is so kind and spiritual and fun and just what I need. I'll attach pictures. My district is Awesome. It's 3 sets of sisters and 3 sets of Elders. We sisters are all going to Arkansas, but our elders are going to Vegas! It's quite sad cause we have some quality district unity. Our teachers are also super great. I've learned a lot.  Probably my biggest spiritual experience was when we met people the first night that we were going to teach. I felt such overwhelming love for them, even though I just met them. It helped me to understand more than ever that Heavenly Father loves all of His children So Much. He loves me. I'm grateful He helped me feel that lov...
