The Only Way

Hey. I miss you guys a lot. I hope things are going well. This world is crazy city. Wayy a lot is going on, and a lot of it is scary and no good. A lot of my friends brought this up this week, so I've been thinking about it. What are we supposed to do with so much evil and hard, hard things in the world? 2 Nephi 31 says "This is the way; and there is none other way nor name given under heaven whereby man can be saved in the kingdom of God... this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, ad of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Jesus Christ is the  only  way we can get through this crazy world. His doctrine of faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end will help us through hard times when nothing else will. That is the reason I came on my mission, to share this message. I know it is true with all my heart, and I am SO glad I am a missionary and representative of Jesus Christ so I can share this ...

What I Need

Hello family! Some really wonderful things happened this week.  Thursday, we had a video lesson with our friend Shamel. It was our first time meeting with her, and she had asked to talk about how to know what your path is. We told her about God's plan for us to learn and grow and become. The whole plan is possible through Jesus Christ, and we get His help by living His gospel which is faith in Him, repentance, baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. As we explained these 5 points, she said "Maybe that's what I need." It made me so happy because, of course, that's what everyone needs! Saturday, we met with Timmy and talked about how this gospel that Christ taught when He was on the earth has been restored today! This is Christ's church on the earth, and, like Shamel said, it's what we need. As we were talking, Timmy's friend Hewie joined in. It turns out he knows quite a bit about the church and wants to meet with us too! THEN,...

Where I Find Peace

Hello family! What a week it has been. So many fun things and wonderful people. I gave away pizza at a park and made some new friends, and I played in a pickleball tournament. There are incredible ward and branch missionaries in my area that I am way excited to work with. They are legendary. This week has also had some hard things. People I care about so, so much are struggling. It breaks my heart. Also, I'm terribly inadequate, which is frustrating.  I've read my favorite chapter in the Book of Mormon many times this week, and it has given me a lot of comfort. It's 3 Nephi 11. In it, people in ancient America had just been through a lot. The government had been corrupted and fallen apart, and there were all kinds of natural disasters and darkness. After all this craziness, Christ descended from heaven and spoke to the people. He told them who He was and why He came, ministered to the people one by one, and taught His gospel. Everytime I read it, I am filled with peace....

Reset

Six months ago, my mission changed pretty drastically. We couldn't go to church, or really anywhere. We were stuck in our house a lot, and the service and teaching we did looked different than it did before. We kind of went into survival mode. But, GOOD NEWS, we survived!! And there were so many crazy miracles. During those 6 months I made lifelong friends, some ladies I LOVE got baptized, and my capacity increased like crazy. Missionary work still doesn't look like it did 7 months ago, but overall, the change has definitely been positive. And the Lord's work is not about to be stopped. Actually, it's hastening. My mission is having a MAJOR reset, and I am HYPED for it. We are officially  out  of survival mode and in hardcore work mode. There's lots of intense goals and plans and whatnot that go with the reset which are really good but also a lot. I've been a little overwhelmed. What has helped me through is remembering why I came on my mission and what I...
